Parents, carers and the community

As a parent or carer, you are an important part of our school community. We offer a range of services to support you and your family.

Parents and Citizens’ Association (P&C)

Our Parents and Citizens’ Association (P&C) is made up of parents and carers, teachers and community members. The P&C meets regularly to contribute to decision-making, developing policies and management plans as well as fundraising.

The Kenthurst Parents and Citizens' Association's primary goal is the promotion of home, school and community partnerships that will assist principals, teachers, support staff, parents and students in the development and planning of school activities.

Involving yourself in your child's schooling is a very rewarding experience, both for yourself and your child. Research has consistently shown that engagement in a child's schooling by parents invariably results in a marked improvement in the child's academic results.

At Kenthurst Public School, parents can help in a number of ways: helpers are welcomed at the many fundraising and social activities that the P&C undertakes. Volunteers are required to manage the successful operation of P&C events. Fundraising activities include: Mothers Day and Fathers Day stalls; fun times for the whole family such as Fireworks Night as well as the Welcome BBQ at the beginning of the year. Many friendships are made at these functions and an enjoyable time is had by all.

Meetings of the P&C Association are held at the school on the second Wednesday of the month at 7:00 p.m. A wide variety of issues are discussed. You will find the meetings informative and a useful opportunity at which you have a chance to have your say and find out what is going on.

Interpreting and translations

We will help you communicate with our school. If you’d like an interpreter for a school meeting, let us know and we will arrange one, if available.

If you don’t speak or understand English well and want to contact us, call TIS National on 131 450 and ask for an interpreter in your language. The operator will call the school and get an interpreter to help. This service is free.

For more information, listen in your language.

Visit the department’s translated documents section for important information that’s relevant for your child’s education in many languages.
